West Virginia Federal Candidates Report Fundraising Numbers for Senate and House Races
West Virginia’s Republican primary races for the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives seats are heating up as candidates continue to raise significant amounts of money for their campaigns. Governor Jim Justice remains ahead of U.S. Rep. Alex Mooney in fundraising for the Senate race, while Rep. Carol Miller and State Treasurer Riley Moore are leading in the House races.
Justice raised over $400,000 in the first quarter, with a total of more than $2.4 million raised so far. Mooney, on the other hand, raised $315,978 in the same period. Several political action committees are also spending money to promote Justice, including Defend American Jobs and Conservative Americans PAC.
In the House races, Moore raised $173,852 in the quarter, with a total of over $900,000 raised so far. His opponent, Chris “Mookie” Walker, raised $452,858 in the same period. Miller continues to outpace Derrick Evans in donations for the 1st District race.
