Alex Mooney Tours Northcentral West Virginia, Discusses Border Security and Election Strategy

Republican Congressman Alex Mooney is making a strong push in his campaign for the U.S. Senate, aiming to close the gap between him and frontrunner Governor Jim Justice. Mooney recently toured northcentral West Virginia, making stops at key locations such as Aurora Flight Sciences and the FBI office in Clarksburg.

One of Mooney’s top priorities is border security, especially as lawmakers work on funding bills for various government departments. He emphasized the need to secure the border and insisted on including border security measures in any legislation passed by Congress.

Mooney criticized Governor Justice for supporting spending bills by the Biden administration that have led to inflation spikes. He highlighted Justice’s backing of the federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which will provide billions of dollars to West Virginia.

As the race heats up, Mooney is confident that his message is resonating with voters, leading to a shift in support towards his campaign. He portrayed Justice as a liberal figure who has not aligned with conservative values, citing his past actions as a Democrat governor.

Mooney also called out Governor Justice for potentially vetoing a bill that would allow private and virtual school students to set their own vaccine policies. He emphasized the importance of choice and individual freedoms, particularly in the face of vaccine mandates.

Overall, Mooney is positioning himself as a conservative candidate who will fight for the rights and freedoms of West Virginians. With the May 14 election day approaching, the race for the U.S. Senate seat in West Virginia is heating up.
