U.S. Rep. Alex Mooney Explains Vote Against $1.2 Trillion Spending Package

U.S. Rep. Alex Mooney, a Republican candidate for the United States Senate seat in West Virginia, recently explained his decision to vote against the $1.2 trillion spending package passed by Congress. Mooney, who is vying for the seat left open by the retirement of U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin, cited several reasons for his vote against the measure, including concerns about funding for border security, abortion policies, transgender issues, and wasteful spending abroad.

Mooney emphasized his conservative values and contrasted his stance with that of his primary opponent, Governor Jim Justice, whom he accused of supporting “out of control Biden spending.” Mooney highlighted his voting record on issues such as healthcare reform and immigration, positioning himself as the “true conservative” in the race.

The congressman also addressed concerns about “woke-ism” ideals and emphasized his pro-life stance and commitment to securing the southern U.S. border. Mooney, the son of a Cuban immigrant, expressed frustration with the lack of border security measures in the spending bill and called for stricter enforcement of immigration laws.

As the primary election approaches, Mooney urged voters to consider the differences between candidates and emphasized the importance of electing a representative who aligns with their conservative values. With the race heating up, the battle for the Republican nomination in West Virginia promises to be a closely watched contest.
