Rep. Alex Mooney Discusses Legislation, Recent Visit to Morgantown, and Campaign Trail Experience
Rep. Alex Mooney is making waves with his recent legislation to eliminate the House Office of Diversity and Inclusion. In an exclusive interview with The Dominion Post, Mooney discussed his reasoning behind the resolution and his upcoming plans on the campaign trail.
Mooney introduced a House resolution on July 27 to terminate the Office of Diversity and Inclusion in the House of Representatives, citing his opposition to what he calls “cultural Marxism” being injected into Congress by liberal bureaucrats. With 15 GOP colleagues already signed on, Mooney is optimistic about the resolution’s chances of passing.
During his visit to Morgantown, Mooney toured the new Hope Gas headquarters, Intermed Labs at Mon Health, and participated in a roundtable on medical issues. He was impressed by the innovative medical devices being developed in West Virginia and highlighted the importance of supporting the military and funding in Congress.
As Mooney gears up for the U.S. Senate race, he faces a comfortable lead by Gov. Jim Justice in recent polls. However, Mooney remains focused on sharing his conservative voting record with the voters of West Virginia. He emphasized his pro-life and pro-Second Amendment stances, as well as his opposition to the Biden spending bills and the growing national debt.
Despite facing criticism from both Democrats and Republicans for his votes, Mooney stands by his principles of fiscal responsibility and representing West Virginia values. As he continues his campaign trail, Mooney remains committed to staying true to his promises and fighting for conservative values in Congress.
