Vice President Harris Condemns Trump’s “Unified Reich” Social Media Post, Warns of Extremists Trying to Divide Nation

Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden have both condemned a recent social media post shared on former President Donald Trump’s account, referencing a “unified Reich.” Harris called the post “appalling” and warned of “extremists” trying to divide the nation, while Biden reacted in a social media video, stating that the language used was reminiscent of Hitler and not reflective of America.

The video in question was posted on Trump’s Truth Social account and included references to a “unified Reich” among hypothetical news headlines if he were to win the election in November. Both Harris and Biden expressed their disapproval of the post, with Biden emphasizing that Trump “cares about holding on to power” while he cares about the American people.

During remarks at the SEIU’s quadrennial convention in Philadelphia, Harris also highlighted the Biden administration’s achievements, such as setting minimum staffing standards in nursing homes, banning noncompete clauses, and supporting workers’ rights to organize on federal property. She praised the SEIU for their advocacy for economic and racial justice, emphasizing the importance of unity in the face of divisive rhetoric.

Biden further criticized Trump at a fundraiser in Boston, stating that losing the 2020 election had “unhinged” the former president and that he is now driven by revenge rather than a desire to lead America. Both Harris and Biden underscored the importance of standing against those who seek to undermine democracy and freedoms.

The video referencing a “unified Reich” has since been deleted, with Trump’s campaign press secretary attributing its posting to a staffer who did not see the word while the former president was in court. Despite the controversy, Harris urged unity and collective power in the face of attacks on democracy.

Overall, the response from Harris and Biden reflects a strong stance against divisive rhetoric and a commitment to upholding democratic values in the face of challenges.
