Leaked Audio Reveals Donald Trump’s Potential Picks for 2024 Running Mate

New audio recorded at a private lunch event at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida has revealed the former president’s thoughts on his potential picks for a running mate in the 2024 election. The audio, obtained by Axios, captured Mr. Trump discussing various contenders for the vice-presidential position, including senators, representatives, governors, and former presidential candidates.

Among the notable mentions in the leaked audio was Governor Kristi Noem of South Dakota, who has long been speculated as a potential running mate for Mr. Trump. The former president expressed his admiration for Governor Noem, describing her as someone he has supported and who has supported him for a long time.

In addition to Governor Noem, Mr. Trump also commented on other representatives, including House Republican conference chair Elise Stefanik, who has been rumored as a top pick for his vice-president. Despite praising Ms. Stefanik’s intelligence and political acumen, reports suggest that Mr. Trump has privately expressed distrust towards her.

Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina, who has been serving as a surrogate for Mr. Trump since dropping out of the 2024 race, was also mentioned during the event. The former president commended Senator Scott’s performance as a campaign surrogate, describing him as “unbelievable.”

Other names that came up in the leaked audio included Senator Marco Rubio and Senator Mike Lee, both of whom received positive remarks from Mr. Trump. The former president also gave a shout-out to Senator Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee, highlighting her energetic campaign style.

Mr. Trump is expected to announce his running mate at the Republican National Convention in July, where delegates will vote on his nomination as the Republican candidate for president. Despite facing no significant opposition in the primary race, Mr. Trump’s choice for a running mate remains a topic of speculation and interest among political observers.
