Florida Women Graduates Face Tough Financial Challenges in Affordable Housing
Florida women face tough financial challenges in finding affordable housing after college graduation, a new study by Moving Astute reveals. The study, using U.S. Census Bureau data, shows that Florida ranks as the fourth-most expensive state for women graduates. With an average annual salary of $49,658, women in Florida spend 32.72% of their income on rent, 8.9% more than men.
The study also highlights the gender pay gap, with states like Hawaii, California, and New York topping the list of expensive housing for women graduates. On the other hand, West Virginia emerges as the most affordable state, where women spend only 16.78% of their salary on rent.
Despite variations in costs, the study emphasizes a national trend of financial strain for female graduates due to the persistent gender pay gap. This disparity in affordable housing affects women in all states, shedding light on the need for equal pay and affordable housing solutions for women across the country.
