U.S. Rep. Alex Mooney Campaigns in Parkersburg for U.S. Senate Seat
U.S. Rep. Alex Mooney, R-W.Va., is making a final push in his campaign for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va. Mooney was in Parkersburg on Friday, knocking on doors and talking to voters about why he believes he is the best choice for the position.
With the primary election just days away on May 14, Mooney has been traveling across the state, meeting with voters and highlighting his conservative credentials. He emphasized his support for former President Donald Trump and his track record of voting against spending bills favored by President Joe Biden.
Mooney criticized his opponent, Republican Gov. Jim Justice, for what he described as a liberal record during his time as governor. He highlighted his own conservative voting record in Congress, including votes to repeal Obamacare and support for the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
Despite Trump’s endorsement of Justice in the race, Mooney stressed his alignment with the former President on key issues and his commitment to fighting against “wokeism” and excessive government spending. He has been endorsed by conservative Senators Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, and Rand Paul.
Mooney’s priorities in the Senate would include controlling spending, securing the border, and opposing socialist policies. He believes that his record and stances on important issues make him the best choice for West Virginia voters.
As the primary election approaches, Mooney is making a strong case for why he should be the next U.S. Senator from West Virginia. Voters will have the opportunity to decide based on the issues that matter most to them.
